
In 2004, the Gomel team reached the final of the Belarusian Cup, but failed to win the decisive match.
2007 was also a good year for the club. Gomel finished in the second position in the national championship, winning the silver medal of the tournament.
That year, Homel player Roman Vasilyuk became the top scorer of the national championship. The striker scored 24 goals in the Belarusian league.
The year 2009 was very unsuccessful for the team from Gomel. The team was relegated from the Top League of the country's championship and was forced to regain its place in the elite of Belarusian football through the first league. At the same time, Brazilian striker Maicon Kalizhuri, who became the top scorer of the national championship with 15 goals, opened up in the team in an unsuccessful season for her. Kalizhuri left Gomel at the end of the season.
In 2010, the Gomel football club, led by mentor Oleg Kubarev, finishes the Belarusian championship in the first league among the leaders and returns to the Top League of the Belarusian championship.
In 2011, with this mentor, FC Gomel unexpectedly became the winner of the Belarusian Cup for the second time in its history.
In the final match of the tournament, Kubarev's wards beat the Neman team with a score of 2:0.
The season turned out to be successful for the Gomel club and in the championship of Belarus. FC Gomel won bronze medals in the national championship of the 2011 season.
